  just joined this board, but not new to boards of this sort.. the board i favored most just changed and i haven't rejoined (mainly because it sux now).. i have heard about this board for awhile, but this is the first time i ventured in.

  Will Women Eventually Start Being Used As Servants?

  as the men in the congregations suffer from burnout and quit helping out as ms and elders, do you think the situation of shrinkage will become so desperate that the wts will be forced to start using women in positions of authority?

  Yes! Someone said to me that the degree I'm about to get and have worked so hard for is worthless.

  Someone else said to me that I'll burn out because so many have done so with the degree I will be pursuing in the fall. It's master of social work. Right now I have a criminal justice degree.

  Another person said that because I'm deaf that if they were the hiring person, they would never hire me.

  Why do others feel they need to rain on others' parades? It's crushing.

  we all know how hard it is, usually, for those rasied in the truth to readjust "outside in the world" once they leave ... so not to undermine them (esp.

  for those who came in later in life - regardless of how many times from the podium you were instructed not to "leave the love you had at first" many of you are here because you found out the "truth about the truth" whether it was the people or doctrine or combination ... and were willing to open your mind, realize the "truth about the truth" and leave.

  not to undermine all those years and mind numbing propaganda you endured in the jw's, but i have always felt: .

  Christmas is a holiday tradition that JW's won't touch with a ten foot pole.

  A camping trip is a vacation.

  In the USA, we call the religious observances holidays while the trips out of town for fun are vacations, not holidays. If we say we are going on holiday here, we would face a JC the day we returned.

  sure they publish books and they used to do that quite a bit.

  but now, i wouldn't primarily call it a "book publishing company".

  they charge nothing for the literature.

  i have been lurking here for a couple of months.

  i was born and raised as a witness, and am a little weirded out to even be posting on here (you know the paranoia).

  anyway, i faded about 10 years ago, and after reading so many posts, i am so happy that it was a pretty uneventful experience.

  A friend of mine says they seem to be. Her sister sent a memorial invitation and said, "Will you be going to the Memorial of Christ's death?" She said that the use of "Christ" was strange. Usually it was always "Jesus'" death. What do you think? Is it turning into something else altogether?
